A Child's Year...Spring

I know, I know....I'm a bit late for Spring. Or....I'm just really early! I wish I could control what inspires me, but in the mean time...I will have to just take what I get! These garden images lend themselves so well to the WIMG cartridge, another one of my faves. I hope you like it!

A Child's Year....Imagine

Is it possible to be in love with a cartridge?? If so, then I think I am! I ordered ACY on Monday from scrapboolpal.com and recieved it today!!!! I could not contain my excitement as I ripped open the package as I sat in the post office parking lot, just so I could get a look at the handbook. As soon as I saw this image I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I just had to wait all day to come home and play! Love it, love it, love it. I forsee a lot more ACY images on my next cards!!!
I hope you like it. I would love to hear what you think! TFL!

Happy thoughts...a simple card

I wanted to make another card today, so I sat here thumbing through my papers and I came across this one. It jumped out at me and I wanted to create something with it. Of course my new border punch had to sneak in there too! No Cricut cuts on this one, just the good 'ol SU! scallop and circle punches. I didn't want to cover up the paper because I liked it so much. TFL!

Bird "Droppings"

As some of you may know, I have been searching for blogs w/challenges to use for inspiration when I am drawing a blank. So after my search, I decided to just sit and create with no specific challenge in mind. Once I found the paper I wanted to use, then I thought of a CB folder that would go perfectly with it. From there I thought of the Cuttlebug Spot challenge by Nilda which is making a funny card. So, I tried to make it funny as I have no "punny" stamps to use. Once I was done, I realized that I fulfilled another challenge using "blue and green, never to be seen". Ha! You see what happens when these challenges are floating around in your subliminal mind!!

BBTB Wildcard Home Challenge

I decided to give the world of challenges a shot, and this is my first (aside from Okie's weekly card challenge). I have only used this cut once before...and hated the result! When I saw that this was the challenge for the BBTB challenge, I knew I wanted to give it another shot. I like this one much better. The pictures don't show the true warmth of the colors.

My Cup of Tea!

Oh, what fun! I have really been wanting to make a shape card...here is my first! As I was flipping through my handbooks looking for inspiration, I went to my Dreams Come True cartridge (as I had not used it yet!) and came across this tea cup. I thought of ways to use it...and wha-la! A shape card! It is very simple, but I like it! I like the movement of the tag as it is not stuck, it dangles. As I was thinking of a way to make the inside...I came up with the tea bag (I hope that's what it looks like! lol!) I don't have DS so I just stuck the handles together. I hope you enjoy it!

Birdy Greetings

It feels great to be able to just sit and create! Today I was able to just sit and make cards. This was the first time in a while that I just created without using any sketches to follow. My goal for this card was to actually sew on it...not just make fakey stitches with a pen! lol! Well... now I know why I always fake it! The card slips around when it is trying to run through the machine...or it doesn't go through at all because the machine has no grip in it. Any tips?? I'll have to try it again another day. Overall, I am pleased with this card. I think my favorite part is the subtlety (sp?) of the cuttlebug detail on the inside. I would love to hear your thoughts...even if it's constructive!

Guess who's the guest designer for Jeannie's "Win a free card"?

I know, I can't believe it either! I am very humbled and honored that Jeannie has asked me to be her guest designer for this month. I'm so excited! It puts the pressure on. For my first card I chose one that you may have seen already. It has been one of my favorites to date! The others...well, you'll just have to wait to see those! This is such a fun hobby! I love it. It is so relaxing to be able to sit and create...and if you end up with something that you like in the end...well that makes it even sweeter! I hope you enjoy this week's card!
